Matthew's childhood unfolded across various U.S. states and international locales. Relocating to Hong Kong at 2, He later moved to Philadelphia before settling in Illinois. A pivotal moment came at 12 with attendance at Missouri Military Academy, and at 16, Stillwater Academy in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he graduated six months early.
Awarded Utah's "Student of the Year," he earned a trip to the 2002 Winter Olympics speed skating finals. Post-high school, a gap year in Hawaii marked a period of self-discovery through surfing and photography. Returning to the mainland, he pursued liberal arts at Harper College, then journalism with a photography focus at Southern Illinois University. A transformative summer in Ghana resulted in a self-published photographic series, earning acclaim and awards.
Matthew's photographic expertise led to collaborations with Fortune 500 companies, major brands, and celebrities, establishing him as a sought-after visual storyteller, content creator, and visual consultant.
