In 2021, to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the U.S. Men's Basketball "Dream Team" at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Scottie Pippen teamed up with Airbnb for a one-of-a-kind campaign. Pippen opened the doors of his personal Chicago home for three one-night stays, offering fans the chance to live like a basketball legend. The stays were priced at $92 per night, in tribute to the year the Dream Team took home the gold. Guests enjoyed exclusive access to Pippen's indoor basketball court, a private movie theater screening Olympic footage, and a poolside lounge where they could watch the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
We were hired to produce the promotional images and social media videos for this national PR campaign, which utilized both media outlets and social media to spread the word about this unique experience. The campaign generated significant buzz, with coverage from major news outlets like ESPN, Yahoo Sports, and MarketWatch, amplifying its reach and engagement.
Our team faced unique challenges, especially considering we were shooting in Scottie Pippen's personal home. To ensure his comfort and privacy, we took special precautions throughout the production. We carefully planned the shoot to respect his space while creating captivating content that showcased the experience Airbnb was offering. We crafted visuals that captured the essence of Scottie’s home—focusing on the high-end features and basketball legacy that made it special.
